Tight lines everyone. August so far has been fishing well, and anglers are keen this time of year; some record fish have been caught the end of July and now in August that weighed between 9lb and 16lb. Pics to follow. Water has been cool and clear, and there is plenty, and it’s mild, certainly still some of the best conditions for trout fishing. The lake has produced some excellent trout, and as I mentioned last month, despite good stocking, it’s all down to water quality, which can be dodgy at this time of the year, as we are in the warmer season. It’s not a bad time of the year now to fish, now the evenings are drawing in, and water temp is around 14 degrees. Here’s a few of the good bags for July and August 08. Report will follow.

The lake is looking beautiful, seasonal fishing from October into June 2008 for rainbows is perfect, and the conditions prove it, and water quality is good. The temperature has increased to round 9 degrees average now, and as we are in March, it will increase probably another 2 degrees. Spring time hurra!! The water has yealded some big fish as usual, but good bags of middle weight trout ie 4 – 6lb’ers are being landed. Hatches of buzzers if the sun shines, and some damsels are being taken off the top, and the usual cat’s etc.. fished just under the surface are doing very well. As one can expect montana’s, and other dark nymph patterns are pretty reliable all year.
